The Albanifest is Winterthur’s largest festival, held annually on the last weekend of June in the city’s old town. It’s a celebration of community, featuring food, music, entertainment, and a large amusement park, the Chilbi. The festival also includes a quieter Sunday morning service and matinees at many restaurants. The festival is historically linked to St. Alban’s Day (June 22), commemorating the day in 1264 when Winterthur received its town charter from Rudolf von Habsburg.
