About Us
Many startups get initiated in the garage with very minimal investment. Our portal (IndianMomsZurich.com) too started in a similar way and the journey has been interesting, fun & lovely.
IndianMomsZurich website was launched in 2018, when we (Jaya & Sita) met on a volunteer web project for a common friend. While working on the volunteer project, we often exchanged ideas about shopping, raising our kids, the local school system and so on. This gave us the inspiration to create a site with useful information for the Indian community residing in Zurich. The yellow hiking signs can’t be missed in Switzerland and we decided to base our site on the same, routing users to information pertinent to living in Zurich and this site is our endeavor to consolidate and present what we collectively know about Zurich. During the process of running the site, we have met a lot of talented self-employed Indian women living in Zurich. When we are not working on IndianMomsZurich.com, we are busy working on web projects for our clients and on our volunteer projects.
Founders
Jayalaxmi Muralidharan
A university ranker (Gold medalist) in Master of Computer Applications, followed by a stint with Oracle, Jaya moved to Zurich in 2011. Jaya is the ‘techie’ & designer of the site. The website has grown out of her idea to give something useful back to the community. Jaya has big time goals for the site and works on researching ways to grow the site.
Sita Sreeraman
A Civil Engineer turned IT professional, Sita moved to Zurich in the summer of 2016 from London. A voracious reader, and connoisseur of information, she manages the content of the site, writing, tweaking and enjoys interacting with people.
